Lake Area Helping Hands Transitional Housing Shelter

Lake of the Ozarks, MO

OUR MISSION

Lake Area Helping Hands Transitional Housing Shelter provides temporary emergency shelter and transitional housing for homeless men, women, children and families in Camdenton and the surrounding area. We provide a safe environment for residents to live in while seeking employment, saving money and receiving the counseling needed to become independent. We provide referrals to local agencies, some meals and/or a portion of meals, personal care products and clothing. We arrange for transportation to and from work and appointments. Our shelter is here to provide assistance to those in need by giving them a hand up not a handout.

About Helping Hands

Lake Area Helping Hands provides crucial housing services to individuals from three counties surrounding Camdenton, Missouri. The shelter provides food, housing and programming to prepare residents for long-term success. Helping Hands’ programming assists residents when they look for affordable housing, develop as professionals and apply for jobs. The shelter houses up to 23 residents.  We do have separate buildings, one is for men and the other is for single women and women with children.  Available bed space often changes on a day-to-day basis.  Interested parties are invited to contact the facility director to determine availability and admission requirements.

Helping Hands is a non-profit organization that relies on funding from grants and individual donors. If you are interested in donating to help people in the lake community with a hand up please click the button below.
